Vintage 1938 Rickenbacker 12″ Speaker Electro Guitar Tube Amplifier Amp
Up for sale here is this vintage 1938 Rickenbacker tube amp , most likely used with an electric lap steel guitar (200A amp model). The amp has an extremely clean tube sound. From a volume standpoint, it is not as loud as modern amplifiers. It would suit an apartment setting or small practice area where you don’t want a lot of volume.
It is has its original canvas-style outer lining. The amp produces approximately 3-5 watts of power, and features two inputs, a volume control, anon/off switch, and power fuse.
The original 12″ field coil speaker was re-coned. The rest of the electrical components are comprised of two 7N7 pre-amplifier tubes, two 7C5 power tubes, and a 5V4 rectifier tube. The wiring was updated with some new wires, three-prong plug, and capacitors. The original large capacitor, visible outside (looks like a metal can), is installed but bypassed. The original transformer is in place, boasting its engraved “Inca, Los Angeles” logo. The handle is new.
It stands at around 16.5″ tall by 10″ deep and 16″ wide.
