This is a US-made Nocturne Guitars 88 Deluxe custom / handmade clear electric Telecaster-style guitar . The guitar features a piano keyboard embedded in a clear-epoxy resin body.

This 88 Deluxe has Fender Tex-Mex pickups in both the neck and bridge positions, and Kluson Deluxe tuners. The resin body, Fender pickups, and maple / rosewood neck gives this guitar an amazing resonance, and a clarity and cutting tone which cannot be understated.

The piano keyboard comes from a 1920s baby grand. The keys were well played and worn at the time they were laid into the resin. They were taken from a non-functioning piano which was in the process of being broken down.

The serial number is A-00004.

This is a new instrument. The heating from the epoxy resin process can cause some minor bubbles or particles to be lifted from the piano keyboard that is over 100 years old. The build quality is excellent. All parts, components, etc. are brand new. You will be the first owner.

The guitar plays very well with clean, low action , and has been set up and ready to play .

The guitar comes with a brand new Crossrock form-fitting hard case.

  • Cardboard boxes for larger items or recycled-paper padded envelopes for small part or flat items. We do not use plastic envelopes or plastic containers.
  • Paper packing tape is used to seal boxes . Clear packing tape (plastic) may be used in a limited way to join pieces of bubble wrap or for affixing a label.
  • Kraft paper for padding and space/void filling : is made from 100% recycled paper and is fully recyclable.
  • Biodegradable peanuts for padding : are made from organic starch and decomposes in water leaving no toxic waste. Simply dissolve in water or place loosely in a garbage bag since they will decompose in a landfill.
  • Recycled green bubble wrap , that is made from up to 40% recycled content with up to 20% from post-consumer sources.
  • We will re-use other packing material from time to time.

This is the Nocturne Guitars 88 Deluxe — a handmade, US-built electric guitar featuring actual piano keys from a 1920s baby grand piano, suspended inside a crystal-clear epoxy resin body.

Part electric guitar, part sculpture, and part piece of musical history.

The piano that supplied the keys had reached the end of its usable life and was being dismantled. Rather than seeing those century-old, well-played keys discarded, they were preserved inside the body of this instrument — scratches, wear and all.

You can literally see their history suspended inside the guitar.

The 88 Deluxe isn’t simply meant to hang on a wall. It was built to be played.

A pair of Fender Tex-Mex pickups gives the guitar the familiar clarity, bite and articulation associated with a great Tele-style instrument, while the unusual resin body gives it its own distinctive character.

The guitar features a maple neck with Indian rosewood fingerboard, Kluson Deluxe tuners, 25.5″ scale length and a comfortable C-shaped neck.

It has been professionally set up with clean, low action and is ready to play.

THE PIANO

The keys embedded in this guitar came from a genuine 1920s baby grand piano.

They were already approximately a century old when this guitar was created, and the wear visible on them is real — evidence of decades of music played before they became part of this instrument.

That history is one of the things that makes this guitar special. These aren’t decorative reproduction keys made to resemble an old piano. They are the real thing.

THE CLEAR RESIN BODY

The piano keyboard is encapsulated inside a substantial clear epoxy resin body, allowing the keys and internal construction to remain visible from virtually every angle.

Because epoxy generates heat while curing, and because the piano components are more than 100 years old, the casting process can naturally draw tiny particles or occasional small bubbles from the antique material.

These are characteristics of embedding genuine aged material in resin rather than defects in the instrument.

The guitar itself is new, and all of its playable components and hardware are new. You will be its first owner.
