Description
Offered here is this 7 course / 13 string Renaissance style lute. I am not sure exactly the age of this or maker, but it isn’t new. My guess it is from sometime between the 1960s and 1970s, based on wood age and overall appearance.
It is in very good condition. It features a multi-colored 21-stave (rib) back and a 14-fret neck. The body appears to be constructed of rosewood and spruce. The neck fingerboard appears to be Brazilian rosewood. The interior looks silk-lined or fabric-lined.
The lute has minor scratches here and there. The neck is straight and the frets are in good condition. The string nut at the top of the neck was re-attached. It was knocked off and split in the middle (minor). You can see that in one of the pictures. All of the pegs are there and all but one are original.
There are nice details on this instrument such as the bone decorations at the end of the pegs and at the end of the peg head.
Please note: The lute is not sold with strings.
