Description
PROJECT GUITAR: This is a 1940s – 1960s Latin American, possibly Cuban, classical acoustic guitar. It is a non-functioning instrument.
The guitar has been re-lacquered and needs some luthier work. This would be an excellent project guitar for someone looking to have a mid-century classical Latin American guitar. The guitar features:
- Solid spruce top
- Solid Cuban mahogany sides and back
- Multi-layered sound hole binding
- Ebony fingerboard and bridge
- Fan bracing
- 5-part neck construction
Here are some of the things it will need:
- Tuners
- Bridge/saddle work
- Top board repair where there is separation at the bass-side of the lower bout side wall
- There are some loose braces inside
- The 14th fret is missing and some frets need to be re-seated
- The back and sides are in very good condition, but will need some cleaning up of the finish.
