Description
This is a beautifully clean vintage 1930s – 1940s Collegiate parlor acoustic flat-top guitar made by P’MICo in New York (Progressive Musical Instrument Corporation).
It features an all mahogany body (top, sides and back), as well as a mahogany neck and ebonized fingerboard. It has its original label inside and the original Collegiate logo on the headstock.
The guitar has a wonderful full, warm sound. It plays very easily, and has excellent action. (SEE VIDEO).
The guitar is small in size with an overall length of 36 1/2″, but the scale length is 24 3/4″. It is a comfortable size. There are no cracks or repairs in the body. The ladder bracing inside is intact and well attached. There are minimal scratches on the top and bottom boards, with some more moderate scratches on the side walls (as seen in the pictures). The neck heal joint, at the bottom end, has some brown putty placed in the space between the heal and body.
