Description
This is a beautiful vintage 1940s classical flamenco acoustic guitar made by Acordeões Veronese S/A (Veronese Accordions Corporation) in Brazil. This is one of the coolest guitars that I’ve had the pleasure playing and holding. It has a restoration brass label on the soundboard that reads “25 de Fevereiro de 1967” (February 25, 1967). A new padded soft-shell bag is included.
The label inside reads:
- Acordeões Veronese S/A (Veronese Accordions Corporation)
- Departamento Violeõs (Guitar Department)
- R. Bãrao De Cotegipo 400 (street address)
- P. Alegre H. S. (Porto Alegre)
- Violão Serie Prata (Silver Guitar Series)
- Made in Brasil
The guitar is well loved and used and has binding loss and repairs. That being said, it plays beautifully, has incredible tone, and the action is excellent. The look of this guitar will speak to you when you play it.
The guitar has a laminated top, sides and back. The neck is finished with a rosewood fingerboard. The headstock is ebonized and is unusual in appearance. The tuners have a lyre design.
The back has a repair in the lower bout and is showing signs of wear, scratches and blemishes.
The top is worn and has scratches and blemishes as well as some aging cracking in the laminate as seen in the pictures.
The sides have several small repairs and are also scratched and worn. There is also binding loss as seen in the pictures.
