Offered here is an original vintage 1968 Fender Blue Floral Telecaster . This guitar is a clean, internally consistent guitar retaining its original finish, electronics, pickups, hardware, and original Fender hard shell case.

These “wallpaper” Telecasters were produced for a very short period between 1968–1969 and have become some of the most sought-after CBS-era Fenders.

This guitar has been carefully inspected and remains highly original:
  • Original Blue Floral finish
  • Original clear pickguard
  • Original CTS 250k pots
  • Original cloth wiring and capacitors
  • Original bridge and neck pickups (no rewinds)
  • Original bridge assembly and saddles
  • Original tuners – at one point, the guitar had other tuners on by evidence of another screw hole at the back of head
  • Original neck plate
  • Original black tolex case with orange interior
  • The solder joints appear factory and undisturbed.
Neck stamp reads: 3 OCT 68 B
(B width nut, 1 5/8″)
All components are internally consistent with late-1968 production.

Finish Condition
  • The finish is original and shows natural age and wear consistent with an instrument of this age.
  • Honest lacquer checking throughout
  • Small finish chips and edge wear
  • Typical fading and slight color shift from UV exposure
  • Clear guard has protected areas of the finish, creating the expected contrast
  • There is no evidence of refinish or overspray.
  • The checking and wear are consistent with authentic aging and add to the character of the instrument.
Body & Neck
  • Maple cap neck
  • Professionally re-fretted with jumbo fret wire (.110″); clean installation with no visible chip-out
  • The maple fingerboard exhibits areas of natural finish wear, now presenting a smooth satin surface
  • Frets are in excellent condition and play cleanly
  • Truss rod functions
  • One string tree is missing – there is no difference in performance
  • Minor screw hole hairline visible in back of head
  • Neck pocket and cavities show correct period tooling marks and finish patterns
  • No extra routing. No structural repairs.
