Description
1929 Bacon Banjolele Resonator Banjo Ukulele Repaired Stable Great Tone
Up for sale is this vintage 1929 Bacon banjolele / banjo ukulele , made in Groton, Connecticut , with serial number 27265 .
This is a very appealing early Bacon banjolele with the classic Bacon peghead logo, metal rim assembly, and resonator back. The Bacon logo is a gold-transfer style logo. The body has 18 tension hooks.
The banjolele has had a headstock repair in its past, which is strong and aged well. The fingerboard is missing part of the overhang at the 17th fret, and the 17th metal fret is missing.
It has cosmetic wear consistent with age, including scratches, finish wear, marks, and typical signs of use. The head shows natural aging and discoloration, and the hardware shows expected age-related wear. The tuners are the original friction-style tuners with ivoroid-style buttons.
