Description
Up for sale is this rare Harmony 10-string Tiple from 1941. I have not seen this particular model anywhere in my research. It is model H870, according to the stamp inside and is dated F-41 (Fall 1941). The tiple is in excellent condition and comes with its original chip-board case.
The tiple features mahogany solid top, sides and back, as well as a mahogany neck. The fingerboard is a beautiful rosewood with the original frets and abalone dot inlays. The headstock has the original tuners and features a pearloid top. The top nut and frets are original and in excellent condition. When I purchased this instrument, it was missing the bridge, so I made one and it is now fitted to the instrument. It was done using proper measurements for intonation etc.
The instrument is quite playable, has a very straight neck, is not fretting out anywhere, and has a full-body sound.
