Description
This is a beautiful vintage 1900-1920’s HA Weymann & Son Keystone State High Grade birds-eye maple bowl-back mandolin. It is in all original finish with original hardware. Overall, it is in very good condition with minor wear, and binding loss and separation along the top board.
On the back of the headstock there is a label that reads “Keystone State High Grade, Made By H.A. Weymann & Son, Makers of the Weymann Highest Grade”.
The bowl-back body is beautiful featuring a spruce top and a 13-stave bowl-back with alternating staves of birds-eye maple and mahogany. The bottom of the bowl on the backside is made of birds-eye maple. The tailpiece/string holder/bridge, tuners and bridge are all original. There is slight wear on the back, plus two small and insignificant hairline cracks (difficult to see in the pictures).
